Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why should I use Nicki’s Transport?

Nicki’s Transport will provide efficient service to you from the time you book your order until your vehicle is delivered.

2. What will be the cost to ship my vehicle?

Cost is based on the type and size of vehicle. A small compact car will cost less than a full size truck. A full size truck can take up to two spaces on the carrier’s truck. The price is also based on the distance your vehicle will be transported. Your vehicle will be competitively priced so that a carrier will want to transport it. If the price is too low, no carrier will want to pick it up.

3. What type of carrier will be transporting my vehicle?

There are two types of carriers:

a. An open carrier which is capable of transporting 3-12 vehicles. This is the most economical and common way to transport your vehicle.

b.
An enclosed carrier which is capable of transporting 2-8 vehicles. This mode of transport runs between 50-75% more than an open carrier but your vehicle will be protected from the elements. The enclosed carrier is recommended for rare, classic or exotic vehicles.

4. When will my vehicle be delivered?

Your vehicle will be loaded on a car carrier with other vehicles being delivered to other destinations. An approximate delivery date will be given to you when the carrier picks up your vehicle. This date will be anywhere from same day to 14 days depending on the distance your vehicle will be travelling and the amount of other pickups and deliveries the driver must do along the route. Enclosed carriers have a longer lead time due to the fact that there are not as many enclosed carriers available as there are open car carriers.

5. Is it acceptable to leave personal items in vehicle?

Nicki’s Transport and the carrier are not responsible for any loss or damage to personal items left in the vehicle during transport as they are not covered by insurance. Only the vehicle is covered under the carrier’s insurance. If it is necessary to bring a few personal items such as clothes, etc., please contact the carrier as they are subject to weight limits. Household goods in a vehicle being transported by an auto carrier are not allowed by the Department of Transportation.

6. When my vehicle is picked up, do I need to be present?

You, or a representative that you choose, need to be present when the carrier makes an inspection of your vehicle. He will note on the bill of lading ( vehicle inspection report ) all the dents, scratches, etc. You must sign the bill of lading agreeing to whatever notations he has listed.
